Meet Nik Solanki, a Development Manager for one of the largest developments in FirstPort’s portfolio. Find out what day-to-day life is like working as a Development Manager.

Nik: Everyday it’s a new day with a new challenge and that’s what kind of excites us. We are always helping residents, contractors, the team on site. It might be a health and safety issue that we are dealing with, it might be a quiet day on the rare occasion, or maybe spending a day with the contractors.
What I enjoy is building relationships with the residents. The residents are here, it’s their home, and they’ve put us, essentially, in a responsible position to look after them and their homes. So, when we are able to connect with the residents, meet their needs, or event assist them further, it’s really really rewarding.
I have trained new managers during my time. I’ve even developed existing concierge team members to assistant manager positions, and even hopefully in the future further on.
I think it’s such a rewarding role. Genuinely, it is rewarding. And, like I said, every day is different but in a good way.
