You never know what you are going to come into work to, so it always can change and that’s the best part about the job.
But a typical day looks like interacting with your residents, walking the development and ensuring the health and safety is up to standard, testing all your systems like your fire alarms, invoicing and keeping your invoices up to date. And my best part about it is just chit-chatting with my residents.
I would say community is just really important because we are not just giving them a home to live in.
Yes, we are here for the bricks and mortar, but we are giving them an experience, you know.
They are at their later end of their lives, and they do go through different struggles.
But to build a community where they can share their day-to-day interests with other people, get support from other residents, have places to go as well.
Some of my residents, bless them, don’t have any family left.
So, to be able to be part of a community.
I would definitely recommend this type of job.
It’s a really rewarding role to do.
I would recommend it to people as well who like a different, a change every day, because every day is different in this role and you never know what you’re going to expect.
