We’re delighted to appoint Christian Phipps as our new Sustainability Manager – a brand new role for us here at FirstPort.
The creation of this role is led by our commitment to consider and react to the environmental impact of our work across the thousands of homes we manage, as well as how best to collaborate with residents and wider communities to make a difference.
Christian joins FirstPort following an extensive career at Veolia, holding a number of operations management roles related to sustainability and waste management, culminating in a three-year spell as a National Account Manager. Previously, Christian has held consultancy roles, as well as a post at the Environment Agency.
In his new role, Christian will oversee the business’ sustainability strategy, identifying and implementing new ways of minimising FirstPort’s environmental impact.
This appointment underlines the FirstPort’s commitment to sustainability, along with significant investment in digital technology which aims to drive a reduction in the company’s overall carbon footprint. Christian will also lead FirstPort’s continued collaboration the Carbon Trust, following their verification of our Carbon Footprint in February 2021.
Speaking about his new role, Christian said: “I am delighted to join FirstPort at this exciting stage in its journey. FirstPort has the unique opportunity to positively impact the environments of the communities it operates in at a large-scale.
“I am inspired by their ambitious plans, and I firmly believe that with their clear focus and commitment we can achieve something that is industry leading and that can inspire the UK residential property services sector to work towards building a more sustainable future.”
