Recognising our PM50 award winners

We’re thrilled to share that two colleagues from The FirstPort Group have been recognised in Flat Living and PMR’s Property Management Top 50.

Now in its sixth year, the PM50 awards celebrate exceptional achievements within the property management sector, highlighting individuals who consistently raise industry standards. The awards feature six categories: Property Managers, Build to Rent, Influencers, Legends, Rising Stars, and Suppliers, recognising the top 50 professionals shaping the future of property management.

You can read about The FirstPort Group’s winners below:

Arjuna – Rising Star, PM50

Arjuna’s journey in property management began when he joined a large London development as an Assistant Development Manager shortly after completing his degree. After a year and a half in the role, he was promoted to Development Manager, where his leadership has transformed the site into a vibrant, well-managed community.

Under Arjuna’s guidance, the development has achieved significant financial improvements, enhanced community engagement, and improved operational efficiency. His proactive approach includes establishing new Key Performance Indicators to drive ongoing performance and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including the Resident Management Company (RMC).

Arjuna is committed to team growth, having hired and mentored an Assistant Development Manager while supporting other developments with training and budget preparation. His dedication to fostering a sense of community was highlighted by his successful organisation of a summer party for over 150 residents at no cost to the client or residents.

Supporting the nomination, the Chair of the development’s RMC said:

“Arjuna has not only risen to the challenge of the role (which includes the management of a mixed development of more than 400 residences with extensive gardens and a listed building), but has shown commitment and enthusiasm, as well as implementing new processes and systems which will allow much more effective (and proactive) management of the development in the future.”

Jo – Property Manager, PM50

Jo joined FirstPort as a Development Manager, taking on the management of a later living development in Windsor. Jo made an immediate impact, as residents were delighted with the consistently high standards that were put in place, with a strong focus on compliance, health and safety and grounds maintenance.

Aside from the day-to-day management of the building and grounds, Jo also became an asset to the community at her development. With a strong focus on her residents, Jo began to put in place a schedule of social events, to help cultivate a community feel, where residents could socialise through a range of activities.

Jo’s success became a shining example of how to manage a later living development, and she was asked to replicate her success, acting as an interim manager across a number of developments, before being promoted to Property Manager, where Jo was formally appointed to oversee the management of 18 sites across Berkshire.

Commenting on Jo’s impact on the development, one resident said:

“Jo infused a new energy into the community, suggesting and helping to organise social events, bringing residents together and forming a community within the building. She even participated in these events outside of her working hours, showing her deep commitment to fostering this sense of community. Jo’s time here made a lasting difference in our community, and I am deeply grateful for her hard work. FirstPort is lucky to have her, and I know she will continue to thrive in her career.”
