FirstPort has secured the expertise of Rosemary Conley CBE to be Editor in Chief of Life & Style magazine. The publication is circulated in print and online editions to over 1,000 retirement developments in the UK.
Best known for her multi-million selling diet books and fitness DVDs and as a TV health and fitness presenter, appearing for seven years on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ with Richard & Judy. Rosemary Conley’s first edition appears this month.
Rosemary Conley, Editor in Chief of Life & Style said: “Most people know of me for helping people to lose weight and become fitter, which I’ve been doing for almost 50 years. Now that I’m in my early 70s, my passion has turned more to helping older people stay fit and healthy and live their life to the full.
“In the current issue of Life & Style you can read about some of the great things that have been happening in aid of FirstPort’s chosen charity Centrepoint, who help give young homeless people a future, as well as learn how to stay safe online with practical advice from Barclays. This year being the D-Day 75th anniversary, we have some extraordinary first-hand experiences of several D-Day veterans who now live in FirstPort developments. The issue also includes healthy recipes-for-one using store cupboard ingredients, sourced by leading nutritionist Sarah Skelton.
“Of course, what I’m best known for is featured too with articles about the best ways to exercise to stay young and active and how to keep a healthy weight. The fitter FirstPort’s customers can stay the more they will be able to live their lives to the full. It’s really exciting to be able to reach out to tens of thousands of people across the developments and I’m delighted to suggest a range of ways anyone can improve their fitness, even if they are not as mobile as they once were.”
Commenting on her appointment, Nigel Howell, Chief Executive of FirstPort said: “Rosemary has worked within the magazine sector for many years and we’re really looking forward to benefitting from her expertise in Life & Style. As a healthy living guru she’s the ideal Editor in Chief for our retirement customers’ magazine.”
